i’ll tell you one thing. nicki minaj has gotten more shit from white women and men alike than matd ever will. if you stan the fuck outta marina and celebrate her as pro-(white) woman without recognizing her unnecessary and unoriginal shit against nicki—who has in several instances spoken about being a woman, how she’s perceived as such, how it fucks with her, and is ultimately proud of who she is and her accomplishments—then you can get the fuck outta here w/yr white feminism and lazy, subtly racially misogynistic media analysis kthxbai

So because she’s a feminist, she has to like every single feminist artist regardless of her own taste? 

Nicki has crap music and she doesn’t like her as a musician. Welp. It has nothing to do with her hatred for her as a woman of color. I’M saying this as a FEMINIST woman of color. Are you serious? I like some of Nicki’s commentary, but she’s not an artist by any means. 

An artist’s take on another artist in the same industry is all that it is. I think that you should direct this sort of critique towards examples that actually show the underlying racism of which you speak. 

Some randomly saying that they dislike Nicki Minaj is not evident of racism against WoC of the music industry. If Ellie Goulding were to take a shot at Azealia Banks and say that her style of music is “low brow and condescending,” on twitter, then I’d totally applaud your dissertation. 

But until then, you’re sort of making an artist into a mascot for a broader idea that you should have used a better example for.

Abandoned farm home outside of town. There were 8 cars left there (The blue one pictured has a pitch fork in the windshield). There was still toilet paper in the bathroom, and pictures littered the counter. The basement wall had caved in and I couldn’t really go down there.
